Junior Championship: In a dramatic game of football, Scotstown and Killanny have to do it all over again in this R1A of the Junior Championship. Scotstown made the perfect start to this championship match going 1-5 to 1pt up with 16mins gone in the match. Sean Mohan goal came in the 10th minute, however great first half points through Elliott Maguire, Paul Sherlock, Sean Mohan, Emmett McCrudden, Adrian Carbin & James Hamill gave Scotstown a strong first half performance, were we contested the high ball with good effect through Michael Mc Carville, Conor Caulfield & James Hamill and the strength of Donnacha Dolan in the full forward helped to create scores, while we led at the break by 1-7 to 4pts. It was a blistering start to the 2nd half, Paul Sherlock point, followed by an Elliott Maguire goal and a 35th minute point from Sean Mohan made the score 2-9 to 5pts. The remaining 25mins of the second half was all Killanny and their introduction of Andy Callan got them back into the game and soon the sides were level by the 51st minute. KIllanny went two in front in the closing stages and tried to increase this, only for an important interception from Jack McDevitt and his resulting clearance got Scotstown a free at the other end which Michael Mc Carville slotted over. Another pointed free from Sean Mohan ended the match all square. Next Draw Saturday 28th June 2014 O’ Duffy Cup: Our B team are away to Ballybay in the quarter finals of the O’ Duffy cup on Sunday 8th June in Ballybay at 3.30pm (ET if required) Senior League: Even though our seniors didn’t play that well, they did, however, manage to scrap through with a 3-10 to 1-13 win against Magheracloone. Scotstown led at the break by 2-5 to 8pts, first half goals from Kieran Hughes and Shane Carey carried them through with a 3pt advantage at half time. Our third goal at the early stages of the 2nd half through Nicholas Corrigan kept Scotstown at bay, while Magheracloone were piling on the pressure & Scotstown having the unfortunate of being reduced to 14 players in the early stages of 2nd half, they had to sustain Magheracloone fight back but in the end our seniors held on for a good win. Galbally Tournament: It was a good experience for our young U12s team as they took part in the Galbally Tournament last week. They contested a shield semi-final were they lost to Eglish, Tyrone. U12s: The commencement of the U12 summer league starts Saturday 7th June, Please check with management for fixture and time details. U14DIV 1: This Thursday (5th June) our U14 DIV 1 side are in round 6 of the league away to Truagh at 7.30pm. Then on Thursday 12th June they are at home to Aughnamullen.

Senior Championship: Scotstown made a winning start to their championship title defence on Saturday last against Truagh Gaels. It was a tight contest right through the 60 minutes and it took an injury time goal through Paul Grant to make the result safe for Scotstown in the end. Rory Beggan had converted a ʺ45 ̏ to leave Scotstown 7pts to 6 ahead at half time. Both teams had been on level terms on three occasions, where Truagh led once in the early stages of 2nd half, but with scores through Conor McCarthy, Darren Hughes, Shane Carey and our midfield dominance from David McCague & Francis Caulfield carried them through to the next round of the championship. Subs Used: Paul Grant (1-1); Mark Treanor Credit Union League: Our seniors were back in action last night (Wed 21st May) in round 8 of the league at home to Clontibret. Then on Saturday 31st May away to Magheracloone at 7pm (this fixture will be played in Inniskeen) Reserve League DIV 1: Our B team will be away to Magheracloone on Sunday 25th May at 12.30pm. This match will be played in Corduff on Sunday. They follow this up with a home league match on 4th June against Latton. O’ Duffy Cup: Quarter finals on Sunday 8th June away to Ballybay at 3.30pm (ET if required) Junior League: Last night (Wed 21st May) our third team were away to Toome. On Sunday last they nearly upset the league leaders Killanny with another fine performance and probably at least deserved a draw for their efforts, they trailed at the break by 8pts to 6 with Elliott Maguire (3), Mark McDevitt, Jason Carey and Sean Mohan registering first half scores. A good start to the second half saw Scotstown in front on 35th minute, with a point from Sean Mohan and a goal from Elliott Maguire made it 1-7 to 8pts. They even created other opportunities to extend their advantage but Killanny turned things around and led by 4pts in the closing stages. Sean Mohan goal on 56th minute was the closest we got to the league leaders as the game came to end on a score of 2-7 to 14pts.
