Seniors League: An experimental Scotstown Senior side were beaten by 4-10 to 0-11 against Castleblayney Faughs on Saturday afternoon. Scotstown team and scorers: Cian Mohan; Elliot Maguire (0-1), Peter O’Hara, Eddie Beggan; Fergal McPhillips, Barry McMeel, Ciaran Treanor; Stephen Sherry, James Hamill (0-2); Paul Sherlock (0-1), Paul Grant (0-2), Ross McKenna (0-4); Sean Mohan, Conor Caulfield, Dermot McCrudden (0-1). Substitutes used: Donnacha Dolan, Micheal McCarville, Nessan McCrudden. Scotstown remain top of the table, five points ahead of Monaghan Harps who have a game in hand. The next Senior League fixture is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th away to Carrickmacross.

 

Senior County Final: Scotstown take on Clontibret in the Monaghan Senior Football Championship Final this Sunday, October 13th at 3:30pm in Clones. Tickets for the game can be bought in advance in a number of outlets around the county including McMahon’s Centra, Scotstown. Adult tickets for Gerry Arthurs Stand can be purchased for €15 at any of the outlets. Unfortunately, Senior Citizen & Student Tickets will only be available to purchase at the Mobile Ticket Unit on the day of the game. On the day supporters who have purchased tickets can proceed directly to Stile 34 – Gerry Arthurs Stand without queuing. The very best of luck to the management and players for Sunday from everyone involved with Scotstown GAA.

 

The Big Breakfast: The club will be hosting a “Big Breakfast” event on the morning of the County Final, Sunday October 13th running from 9am until 1pm – everyone welcome to attend.

 

Conversational Irish: The conversational Irish group continues every Tuesday night from 8-9pm. Caint is comhrá as Gaeilge – tá fáilte le gach duine!

 

Annual General Meeting: The 2013 Annual General Meeting of Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, An Bhoth will take place on Friday, November 22nd in the Complex.

 

Development Draw: The Scotstown GAA Development Draw will take place on Sunday, October 27th in the Complex. First prize is a Seat Ibiza car; second prize is a cruise; there are three cash prizes of €1000, €500 and €500 for third to fifth and sixth prize is a pair of tickets for next year’s All-Ireland Football Final. Tickets available on the Scotstown website and from club members priced at €20 each or three for €50. There will be music in the Complex on the night of the draw with “Hair of the Dog” performing – admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.
