Seniors: The Seniors won their Championship game on Sunday afternoon against Latton by 0-13 to 0-8, which puts them into the semi-final. With the aid of a strong breeze in the first half, Scotstown built up a seven point advantage by half-time. Although Latton outscored Scotstown in the second half, the Blues were winners with five points to spare. Details of the semi-finals are to be confirmed. Scotstown team and scorers: Rory Beggan (0-1); Mark Duffy, William Carroll, Padraig Keenan; Damien McArdle (0-1), Donal Morgan, Emmet Caulfield; Peter O’Hara, Francis Caulfield; James Turley (0-1), Orin Heaphey (0-1), Darren Hughes; Nicholas Corrigan (0-2), Kieran Hughes (0-3), Shane Carey (0-4). Substitutes used: Dermot McCrudden, Ciaran Treanor, David McCague, Brian McGinnity. They were due to be back in League action this Saturday afternoon, but Doohamlet have conceded the fixture.

Juniors: Scotstown are at home to Éire Óg on Saturday afternoon at 4pm in their penultimate fixture of the season.

International Culture Night: Éamonn Ó’Muirí CCÉ celebrate International Culture Night this Friday, 20th September in the Scotstown GAA Social Club at 9pm with a feast of music, song and dance. Featuring on the night will be the Under-12 and Under-15 Ceil Bands, the Under-18 Grupaí Ceoil. There will also be singing and Ceilí dancing, and Mackie Rooney will give a talk on Irish Culture. The event is free, and everyone is welcome.

Conversational Irish: The conversational Irish group resumes on Tuesday, 24th September from 8-9pm. Caint is comhrá as Gaeilge – tá fáilte le gach duine!

Keep Free: A presentation of the proceeds of this year’s Ned Run to the nominated charities will take place in the Complex on Saturday week, September 28th – everyone welcome to attend.

Development Draw: The Scotstown GAA Development Draw will take place on Sunday, October 27th. First prize is a Seat Ibiza car; second prize is a cruise; there are three cash prizes of €1000, €500 and €500 for third to fifth and sixth prize is a pair of tickets for next year’s All-Ireland Football Final. Tickets available on the Scotstown website and from club members priced at €20 each or three for €50.

Condolences: Sympathy is extended to the families and friends of the recently deceased including Kieran Cadden, Mullaghmatt; Sheila Catherine Lynch, Drumbear Wood and Gerry Lambe, Derrintoney.

Ladies Senior League: The girls played their final league game at home to Aughnamullen on a very wet Sunday evening last. Although it was a tough battle at times, the girls came out on top with a 5-8 to 2-4 victory. They have booked their place in the semi-final, which will be played after the Ladies All-Ireland Final.

Ladies Minor League: The minor team were away to Donaghmoyne last Thursday night. They suffered defeat on this occasion. Consistent training is needed to ensure league success for the rest of the year – full attendance needed at training. The girls are away to Emyvale this Sunday, with the time to be confirmed at training.

Ladies Senior and Minor Training: Training continues every Tuesday evening at 7.15pm, and every Friday at 8pm sharp. Please be on time, and if you are unable to attend training it is important to contact team management.

Ladies U16 & U14: Training continues every Saturday at Kilmore from 10 to 11am.

Ladies U14: The team were in action last Saturday in the Gloria Corrigan Memorial Blitz in Emyvale. The girls battled hard and reached the semi-final of the shield.

Ladies U10 & U8 Blitz: Well done to the 154 girls who participated in our annual blitz in Kilmore last Saturday. A big thank you to all the clubs who travelled for the blitz, and to parents who brought the girls to training each week. Thank also goes to the committee who worked very hard to organise the blitz and make it a successful day.
