The A.M Sports SHL Division 1 & 2 Semi-Finals took place last night (August 6th)
Old foes Inniskeen and Castleblayney will meet in the Senior Hurling League Division 1 Final after recording victories over Truagh and Monaghan Harps, respectively
It was a one-sided affair in Inniskeen as the reigning league champions led 1-09 to 0-05 at the short whistle. A second half scoring surge led by recent Irish News All-Star nominee Niall Arthur and two goal hero Brian Minogue, ensured their place in the final as they ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of Inniskeen 2-24 Truagh 0-10
In St Marys Park Castleblayney, the home side had to rely on a strong third-quarter finish to overcome a gallant Monaghan Harps challenge. Having been tied at the break (1-12 to 2-09) Monaghan Harps pushed one point clear on the 45th minute (2-16 to 3-12) but a strong last 15, led by Brian McGuigan and substitute Thomas Hughes, saw the 2024 Championship winners join Inniskeen in the final on a scoreline of Castleblayney 4-19 Monaghan Harps 2-18
In the Division 2 Semi-Finals Carrickmacross raised four green flags as they saw off a stubborn Clontibret challenge on a scoreline of 4-11 to 1-09. In the other semi-final Cootehill could not make home advantage count as the recently crowned Cavan SHC winners were put to the sword by last years Divison 1 finalists Knockbridge on a scoreline of 0-13 to 2-23
