Monaghan U15 hurlers exited the Hibernia Cup at the semi-final stage Saturday June 14th following a 6 point loss to Donegal in Garvahey, County Tyrone

Having qualified for the finals day after an eye catching win over Sligo in the quarterfinal, Monaghan could not get to the pitch that they played to in Sligo two weeks previous.

Monaghan got off to a perfect start when Truaghs’ Odhran McMeel had the ball in the back of the Donegal net on Monaghans first attack however it was Donegal that took the lead approaching the short whistle. Monaghan found scores at a premium in the second half and Donegals dominance in the half back line in particular gave them a platform to nullify any Monaghan attacks. Full-time Donegal 1-18 Monaghan 1-12
