Gaels of Monaghan gathered to celebrate Monaghan GAA’s All-Star Appreciation night on Thursday, 1st May in the Four Seasons Hotel. We were honoured to be joined by Uachtarán Jarlath Burns, Uachtarán Comhairle Uladh Michael Geoghegan plus Rúnaí Comhairle Brian McAvoy.
A fantastic evening was had by one and all as we come together to celebrate and acknowledge our ten outstanding All-Stars for their incredible contributions and achievements to our County.
Each player was presented with a framed photo of the 10 All-Stars by Uachtarán Jarlath, Ciaran Marron Activ8 & Cathaoirleach Declan.
· Eugene ‘Nudie’ Hughes (1979,1985,1988) Nudie’s brother Tommy was presented with the framed photo on behalf of Nudie.

These players have demonstrated remarkable skill and passion for their county. Their relentless pursuit of excellence has set a standard that inspires all of us, and we were excited to celebrate their success in a night filled with recognition, reflection, and camaraderie as the All-Stars regaled us with colourful accounts of their playing days over the decades. Unfortunately our dear friend and 3 time All-Star Nudie was hospitalised and unable to attend in person but suffice it to say that his family and club, Castleblayney Faughs turned our in style and celebrated Nudie in his absence. Glowing tributes were paid to Nudie by all speakers plus video messages from people present were also sent to Nudie.
