A.M Sports U12 Hurling Spring League Finals

There were great scenes in VBC Cloghan Monday April 28th as the finals of the A.M Sports U12 Hurling Spring League took place in what was a real festival of hurling atmosphere!

It concluded the four week schedule of games in which teams from Monaghan and Cavan participated. It was the first year the U12 Hurling Spring League finals had taken place and was reported by each club as a welcomed schedule of games, played in the ethos of the non-competitive environment the Spring League is. The league was split into two sections with Monaghan Harps, Truagh, Latton and Cootehill competing in the North Monaghan section and Castleblayney, Inniskeen, Carrickmacross and East Cavan Gaels in the South Monaghan section. Following three consecutive Mondays fixtures the pairings on finals day pitted East Cavan v Cootehill, Castleblayney v Truagh, Inniskeen v Latton and Monaghan Harps v Carrickmacross. In what was a skills based assessment league, very little separated all teams in their finals and all teams demonstrated skills of the highest quality on the night!

Monaghan GAA would like to extend its thanks to competition sponsor Aidan Morgan of A.M Sports for his continued support of all hurling competitions, Hurling Officer Patrick Hannon and Coiste na nÓg for the organisation and administration of this league, to Emmett in Cloghan for the organisation of pitches on finals night, and to the parents and players on ensuring all games were played over the last four weeks – we hope you enjoyed your hurling!
