The playing and training season may be in hibernation but the work goes on at O’Neill Park. During the past week Prunty Pitches have been sanding and verti-draining all pitches as part of the annual maintenance programme. This is an added cost each year but it contributes to maintaining our pitches in the pristine condition that we have become accustomed to in recent years.

Following a recent special county committee meeting it was unanimously decided that all underage competitions within the county will revert to even age groups next year. This means that club competitions next year will be at Under 12, Under, 14, Under 16 and Under18 grades. The county minor team grade will remain at Under 17 for all competitions.

Major congratulations to five of our Under 17 players who have been selected to join the county minor team panel for 2024. These include, Stephen Hamill, Jack Sullivan, Evan Treanor, Charlie Mone and Darragh Keenan and we wish them well for a successful season along with their team mates and management. Well done also to Aaron Carey who will be on the Under 20 county panel for the second successive year. A new specially commissioned club app will be launched shortly which will be used for all club communications in the future, replacing Whatsapp groups which are currently widely used. The club app will be the main means of disseminating club news, club gear, membership and tickets. Watch out for further updates.
