AGM 2023

Our AGM takes place this Sunday 26th November at 3pm in St.Mellans

 

Adult Management

The 2023 season has concluded, and we would like to acknowledge our outgoing Adult Management Teams for their commitment to their respective Teams thru the year.

St.Mellans Handball Club

 

Golden Gloves.

 

Last weekend saw an action packed weekend of handball in Belfast where the “Golden Gloves” annual tournament was held, the high of the weekend was in the U13 section where Odhran Mc Meel won the U13 B final where he defeated Aodan Mc Cann in a very tight final, Odhran was in control early on and was leading, but the hard hitting Aodan took the lead 12-6, but Odhran as usual didn’t panic and with some great kills and better passing shots began to real him in, and never stopped until the title was secured at 15-13, another great display when needed from Odhran, in the same section a valiant display from Fiachra Kelly saw him loose the C section semi-final to eventual winner Sean Dee from Co.Cork, in the U17 section Daithi Mc Meel lost to Tom O Connor also Cork and Donnacha Mc Cluskey lost to Matthew Coughlan from Co.Clare, also well done to other club who took part from the club, we had Fergal O Neill, Mathew Gibbons, Eoin Treanor in Men’s C and Shane Treanor in Men’s B, these outings be great to meet and play players from all around the country.

 

Juvenile County Championships.

 

The Juvenile county championships are fast approaching, the U12-U14’s will be held weekends December 3rd & 4th, the U15-U18’s will be held the following weekend the 9th & 10th, with all finals to be played on the one day, so get as much practice in as possible, book alleys VIA Skedda App, closing date for entries is this Sunday the 26th of November, can all parents please register their children registered via link in WhatsApp group for county championships.

 

Mono League.

 

The Mono League is ongoing, bar a few outstanding games all seems to be on track, again thanks to all putting in the effort to keep the structures & schedule in place.

 

Adult County Championships.

 

The link for all adult championships is now open so anyone wanting to play get yourself registered via link in WhatsApp group, the Men’s Senior Singles this year is being played as an “Open”, so anyone willing to pit themselves can against the senior players can do so while also playing in their own prospective grade, we hope this will give players the extra experience in championship game time against the tougher opposition, closing date for all entries is this Sunday the 26th of November.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Membership.

 

The club will be seeking membership in the very near future, Adults 50 Euros, Students 35 Euros and juveniles 20 Euros, all membership must be paid via the Foireann APP, thank you.
