GAAgglebox

Gaeil Triucha are excited to announce that we are hosting GAAgglebox in the Hillgrove Hotel this Saturday 4th November 2023 to raise funds for our recently published development plan.

The plan which includes replacement of our existing floodlights with LED Lights, an Extension of our walking track facilities, provision of additional changing facilities for recently completed training pitches, additional surfaced car parking and a number of other long-term projects. These facilities will benefit all members of our club and the associated clubs (LGFA & Handball) who use the facilities, along with the wider community.

We have assembled great teams for you all to support and get behind. Please help out and support the teams to help them raise their funding goal. Without these volunteers the event could not take place so a big thank you to all who are taking part.

Our club is 65 years in existence this year and we have already great facilities from previous generations of volunteers and workers and it is our intention to continue to improve our facilities for the next generation to come. We would ask you all to come along on the 4th November to what should be a very enjoyable evening for all our Gaels and wider community.

St.Mellans Handball Club

 

Mellans Handball Shootout.

Huge thanks to all 32 players and everyone who supported the St. Mellans Shootout sponsored by Verisure Environmental Ltd last Saturday in aid of “The Pheadars” GAAglebox fundraiser for Gaeil Triucha CLG – Truagh Gaels, a total of 46 games were played across the Cup and the Plate competition (1st round runners up) with fantastic games of handball to keep all spectators on the edge of their seats, congratulations to Christopher McKenna (PJ) who took home the Cup honors after a nail biting final against Szymon Polewski from Monaghan Harps Handball Club on a scoreline of 20:15. Both players played fantastic stuff all day and were deserving finalists and put on a great game full of kills and long rally’s, special mention to Emyvale Handball Club duo Colin Donnelly and Callum Gallagher who pushed both players all the way in the semifinals.

The Plate final was an all-Mellans affair with Oisin Hagan playing Dermot Boyle. Both players were in great form across the Plate and put on a great curtain raiser for the cup. In the end Oisin ran out the victor, with some great play and shot selection. Credit to Dermot thou, never gave up!

Also, special thanks again to all the players from other clubs who came down to take part, it’s great to pip ourselves against quality players from around the province.

Juvenile County Blitz.

The county board is organising a county under blitz this weekend for juveniles born 2010-2013, venue and times will depend on entries from all clubs, but messages will be relayed to all when it is set up.

Juvenile Coaching.

Juvenile Coaching is on going with bigger number than ever, we hope to incorporate leagues & competitions as all progress, we will also be organising league for older groups over the weekend days & evenings, so please ensure all membership for juveniles is paid before the season begins, any problems registering, or any queries about new members contact any committee member.

Mono League.

The Mono League is ongoing, and all looks to be running smoothly, so all keep up the good work, be mindful of playing excess games, ensure alleys are booked in advance via “Skedda” App.

 

Membership.

The club will be seeking membership in the very near future, Adults 50 Euros, Students 35 Euros and juveniles 20 Euros, all membership must be paid via the Foireann APP, thank you.

 

Court Booking

Please all booking of courts use the “Skedda” App, courts will fill up very quick when all leagues & coaching is in full flight, we ask all players to sue the weekend as much as possible for all practise games.
