Toome Club Notes 28.09.2023

October 4th, 2023

U7’s: The under 7’s enjoyed their final blitz of the season, a great morning was had by all and we would like to thank all the children for their hard work, the parents for all the driving and our fabulous coaches who dedicate their time to these young ballers.
U11’s: The under 11’s match against Éire óg is to be rescheduled.
Relegation Play-offs: Awful conditions on Sunday last 24th September as Toome made the short trip to Doohamlet for the opening game of the relegation play-offs. Toome had to walk away from this game very disappointed as they should have taken the spoils here, a few minor errors cost them points and there were 2 goal chances that were not taken advantage of. It was a tough game with the weather conditions and both teams gave it their all here. Despite giving away the first two scores Toome started well and built up a 3 point lead by the 25th minute, a couple of unforced errors allowed the home side right back in this game and they went in a point ahead at the interval. James Wilson had to come off due to an injury and was replaced by Eoghan Gorman. Doohamlet came out determined and scored 3 on the bounce, Frank stood up to take a penalty that brought it back to a one point game. It was a little nip and tuck for the 3rd quarter and with a point in it with 10 remaining Toome tried in vain to get the better of the home side, this in turn left them exposed on the turnovers and the home side capitalised on this. Doohamlet ran out the winners by three at the end but Toome could have taken the spoils if lady luck had been in attendance today and the goal chances taken. Next up will be a home match against Sean McDermotts on Saturday. Please be sure to come along and show your support. #Bethe16thMan
