GAAgglebox

Gaeil Triucha are excited to announce that we are hosting GAAgglebox in the Hillgrove Hotel on Saturday 4th November 2023 to raise funds for our recently published development plan.

The plan which includes replacement of our existing floodlights with LED Lights, an Extension of our walking track facilities, provision of additional changing facilities for recently completed training pitches, additional surfaced car parking and a number of other long-term projects. These facilities will benefit all members of our club and the associated clubs (LGFA & Handball) who use the facilities, along with the wider community.

We have assembled great teams for you all to support and get behind. Please help out and support the teams to help them raise their funding goal. Without these volunteers the event could not take place so a big thank you to all who are taking part.

Our club is 65 years in existence this year and we have already great facilities from previous generations of volunteers and workers and it is our intention to continue to improve our facilities for the next generation to come. We would ask you all to come along on the 4th November to what should be a very enjoyable evening for all our Gaels and wider community.

Liathroid Laimhe.

St.Mellans Handball Club

 

County Team of 6.

Sunday past we had 8 players tog out in county colours representing Monaghan in teams of 6 & 4, in U12/U13 Shay Mc Kenna & Odhran Mc Meel were partnered, in U14/U15 Myles Mc Meel, Fintan Treanor, Enda Mc Anenly & Conor Treanor fielded and U16/17 Dermott Mc Kenna & Daithi Mc Meel took part, we had no success on the day but all put in a good shift but “Ring Rusty” was very evident on the day, but a few weeks play will sort that out, well done all.

Juvenile Sponsorship.

We are delighted to be continuing our sponsorship of the juvenile players in the club with Emyvale & District Credit Union, Eoin organised the purchase and the distribution or gear for the juveniles through the funding, a massive help to all involved, without all our sponsors nothing would be possible in the club, and we are all truly grateful for this continued sponsorship.

 

Juvenile Coaching.

Juvenile Coaching kicked of Monday past with bigger number than ever, we hope to incorporate leagues & competitions as all progress, we will also be organising league for older groups over the weekend days & evenings, so please ensure all membership for juveniles is paid before the season begins, any problems registering, or any queries about new members contact any committee member.

Mellans Handball Shootout.

“St.Mellans Handball Shootout” is happening this Saturday October the 28th, this is part of their fundraiser for committee member Patrick Mc Kenna as he takes part in the gaaglebox fundraiser, 32 players from county and further afield will be pitting themselves against one and other, play begins @ 9am, so early to bed!!!, this competition has been sponsored by “ Verisure Environmental Ltd”, good luck to all taking part, refreshments will be served on the day.

Mono League.

The Mono League is ongoing, and all looks to be running smoothly, so all keep up the good work, be mindful of playing excess games, ensure alleys are booked in advance via “Skedda” App.

Coaching Course.

We are looking at holding a handball coaching course in the very near future, some ex-players or parents might be interested in taking part, if so please contact any committee member, we will be in touch with all information when we have it confirmed, also can all existing coaches get on line to get their Gardai Vetting moving.

Membership.

The club will be seeking membership in the very near future, Adults 50 Euros, Students 35 Euros and juveniles 20 Euros, all membership must be paid via the Foireann APP, thank you.

Court Booking

Please all booking of courts use the “Skedda” App, courts will fill up very quick when all leagues & coaching is in full flight, we ask all players to sue the weekend as much as possible for all practise games.
