Doohamlet G.F.C. Results: Our Senior team played Clones on Sunday afternoon in the Mc Elvaney Waste & Recycling Intermediate Football Championship R2 relegation match.  Doohamlet opened the scoring with a point from Hugh McGinn.  Clones scored their first point of the day but a goal from Sean Markey gave us the ideal start.  Eoin Markey replaces Niall J Connolly.  Clones hit four points in a row bringing them back into the game.  Barry Mc Bennett converted a free and Clones hit another over the bar.  Clones were awarded a penalty, but Keeper James Casey pulled off a vital save which left Clones ahead at half-time by the narrowest of margins.  The score at half-time was Doohamlet 1-2 Clones 0-6.  Clones opens up the second half with a point which is cancelled out by a point from Jamie Walshe. Eoin Coleman replaces Kevin Mc Ardle.  Clones hit the back of the Doohamlet net, however with two points from Barry Mc Ginn and a point from Barry Mc Bennett taking it back to just two points between the teams.  Jack Mc Elroy replaces Mark Burns. The teams trade scores with Barry Mc Bennett adding two more points to the scoreboard. A goal for Clones in the last few minutes gives them an extended lead.  In the dying minutes, Captain Barry Mc Bennett converted a free but we ran out of time and came away defeated by Clones.  The final score was Doohamlet 1-9 Clones 2-12.  Team: James Casey, Damien Ward, Conor Marray, Mark Burns, Darren Connolly, Colin Walshe, Sean Markey (1-0) Jamie Walshe (0-1) Barry Mc Bennett (capt) (0-5) Hugh Mc Ginn (0-1) Barry Mc Ginn (0-2) Ciarán Mc Manus, Kevin Mc Ardle, Ciarán Markey, Niall J Connolly.  Subs used were Eoin Markey, Eoin Coleman, and Jack Mc Elroy.
