Retirement Party

Retirement Party

July marked John’s Nixon’s retirement from employment with Latton O’Rahilly GAA Club.

If you have frequented our grounds any time in the last 23 years John was someone that you were most likely to see ,whether in the GAA Grounds or Centre …. be it a match or a function in the bar this man is always on hand for whatever needs to be done . John has been our groundsman for almost 30 years and in that time had worked to ensure that the facilities are in perfect condition for whatever group or team is using them on any day. John was responsible for ensuring our 3 fields are ready for the teams arriving, ensuring that all are lined out and that flags are set out. He maintained our Gym and sports hall to a very high standard . John in previ-ous years also took on many tasks with our Senior squad and it has been said that it was his Soup served to the players after training that contributed greatly to our successful championship winning teams in the past .Living next door to the grounds John has been called on at all times of the day to open the facilities or maybe attend to a few stray Cat-tle!!!

To mark and thank John for all his hard work we are having a Retirement Party on Satur-day 2nd September in GAA Centre . Lets all come along and give John a good send off.
