Doohamlet Club Notes 17.08.2023

Doohamlet G.F.C. Results:  Our U-15s played in the Division 3 Cup replay against Emyvale  in Tyholland on Wednesday the 9th.  It was a close game up to the last ten minutes, but Emyvale pulled away and came out as winners on the day.  Well done to the Doohamlet team and management for their hard work and commitment to get to the final.   

Our Senior team played Castleblayney Faughs on Saturday evening last in Doohamlet.  Doohamlet got off to a great start with captain Barry Mc Bennett opening up the scoring with a point from a free kick followed minutes later with a second point.  Ten minutes into the game Barry Mc Bennett hits the back of the Blayney net with a well-taken goal.  Castleblayney gets their first point of the game and Oisin O Neill places the ball over the bar with a great ball in from Ciaran Markey.  Castleblayney gets their second point leaving the score at half-time Doohamlet 1-3 Castleblayney Faughs 0-2.  The second half of the game didn’t go according to plan. Barry Mc Bennett hit a further two points and a point each from Barry Mc Ginn and Ciaran Markey still left us playing catch up with the game as Castleblayney took control of the second half.    The final score Doohamlet 1-7(10) Castleblayney Faughs 0-14

U-17 Division 3B Semi-Final: On Monday the 14th Our U-17 team played Ballybay in the Division 3B Semi-Final in Doohamlet.  This was a great performance of football from both teams and was a nail-biting experience right to the end, however, Doohamlet proved the stronger team on the day and earned themselves a spot in the final.  The final score was Doohamlet 2-11 Ballybay 2-10.  Congratulations to the team and management on reaching the final.   

 

Doohamlet G.F.C. Fixtures: Our U15s play Rockcorry this Thursday the 17th of August in Drumhowan at 7pm.   

U-13s play Killanny on Saturday the 19th of August at 12 noon in Killanny.  

Our Senior team plays Monaghan Harps in R2 of the Mc Elavney Waste & Recycling Intermediate Football Championshion Sunday the 20th of August in Monaghan at 2pm.

U-17 Final: Our U-17 team will play Rockcorry in the Division 3B final which will be played in Doohamlet on Monday the 21st of August at 7pm.  We wish the team and management every success in the game.  Please come along and support the lads.   

 

 Doohamlet Blotto Results: The numbers drawn were 3,4,7,2,1,6,5.  There was no jackpot winner, the lucky dip winners were Hugh & Clodagh Connolly, Killycrum.  Enda Duffy, Corlagan.  Frank Leonard, Tonyglasson.  Malachy Smyth, Derryhallagh.  Chloe McQuaid, c/o Agnes Duffy.  Next week’s jackpot will stand at €10,000.  Once again thanks for your continued suppor
