Monaghan Seniors are into the All Ireland Semi Final!

All Ireland Senior County Football Championship Quarter Final Result Monaghan 0-14 Armagh 0-14 (a.e.t. Monaghan win 9-8 on Penalties)

Monaghan’s amazing 2023 All Ireland journey continues with the Senior men qualifying for the Semi Final on top of the Minors making their All Ireland Final. Rory Beggan was the penalty shootout hero as resilient Monaghan held firm in an unbelievable nerve-wrecking quarter final at Croke Park against Armagh to secure their first All-Ireland SFC semi-final place since 2018. Rory made 2 superb saves in the shootout to win the game. Both Kieran Hughes and Jack McCarron calmly scored their 2 penalties during the shootout. Incredibly, the sides were level 14 times across the 90 or so minutes including the extra time, in an extremely tight affair. Well done to all our Blues who played, Rory Beggan, Shane Carey, Darren Hughes, Kieran Hughes, Jack McCarron, Conor McCarthy and Ryan O’Toole, with superb scores from Conor McCarthy (0-3) and Jack McCarron (0-2, 1 from free); and to the team and management. Monaghan have been drawn against Dublin for the All Ireland Semi Final and it takes place on Saturday 15th July at 5:30pm in Croke Park. We wish all our Blues, the team and manager Vinnie Corey and his management team the very best. You can purchase your tickets at McMahons Centra Scotstown.
