Monaghan V Fermanagh

Monaghan made it two wins from two in the Hibernia Cup as they over came Fermanagh in Belnaleck on Saturday, May 20th. It was the homeside who got of to the better start as they registered 2-01 in the first 5 minutes withMonaghan not on the score sheet yet. A brace of Aodhán Lawless goals and points from Callum Sherry, Hugh McMahon and Tomas McCabe left the scoreline at halftime Monaghan 2-09 Fermanagh 2-04. Monaghan would go on to dominate the second half with midfield duo Cillian Payne and Captain Tomas McCabe giving the team a strong foothold in the game assisted by with some excellent defending from the half back line of Joseph O Neill, Cathal Malone & Conaire Casey. Ft score Monaghan 5-19 Fermanagh 2-05.

Monaghan V Cavan
Monaghan made it three consecutive wins in the Hibernia Cup following a strong performance over Cavan in a sun-drenched Breffni Park Thursday, June 1st. Monaghan got off to the perfect start after a strong run from Lattons Aaron Hughes had the ball in the Cavan net however this was followed by a quick 1-01 from Cavan. Both sides traded scores over the half and a further goals from Aaron, Callum Sherry and Aodhán Lawless had the score Monaghan 4-08 Cavan 2-06 at half time. Monaghan produced another strong second half to see out the game, again with some excellent defending to restrict Cavans attack.
