Lots of great games are coming up this week, so let’s get out and support our teams. Wishing all our teams and management the best of luck in the upcoming games.
Intermediate League: Last Friday evening saw the clash between two current mid table teams in an important game that should make major strides towards keeping our Intermediate status. A hardened Killanny team arrived in Tully to take the game to our youthful side. Harvey Colleran opened the scoring for the homeside after 2 mins with a well-placed free kick. Continuing with recent trends in the division, scores were hard come by, and it took a further 10 mins before Killanny got off the mark with a point. They backed that up with a point from a free and a goal from the penalty spot. Conor Forde got his first score of the day
with a free and we hit the Halftime break trailing at 0:02-1:02. The restart saw Emyvale produce some patient football, playing around the blanket defence with Aidan McKenna providing a fine point from play. The sides exchanged scores with Stephen Askin providing the deadball accuracy we have come to expect from him, to score 2 points from frees. The ever-lively combination of Harvey Colleran and David Duffy injected pace to compliment the graft and David got the point that put the sides level at 1:03-0:06 with Harvey scoring from play to edge Emyvale into the lead for the first time since the early stages. Conor Forde got his second point from a free and Stephen Askin took his tally to 3 points with another free to give a 3-point gap and the final score of Emyvale 0:09 – 1:03 Killanny. A good win at home with 2 away games left. Next game is away to Toome on the 1st July and finishing the league stage games off away to the Harps on 8th July.
Reserves: Our Reserve team play their Crawley Cup Semi-Final at home to Carrickmacross on Friday evening at 8pm. We wish the team and management the best of luck and we hope to see a big support out to back the team. Next league fixture is Emyvale v Clones in Tully on Tuesday 27th at 8pm.
U17’s: Training is every Tuesday and Thursday from 8pm to 9pm in Tully. Games are starting soon with the first game at home to Carrick on Tuesday 27th in Tully at 6:45pm.
U15’s: training is every Monday and Wednesday from 6:50pm to 8pm in Tully. Back to league action this Thursday at home V Corduff at 7:30pm in Tully. Good luck guys.
U14 tournament: The lads had a great day out at a tournament in Greenlough , Derry last Saturday. They just had the bear team, and it was tough going for the lads but they battled hard in every game and lost the shield QF by a point to Ballinascreen who went on to win the shield final, so the lads were not that far off. Well done lads, you did the Black and White of Emyvale proud
U13’s: Training resumes Monday and Thursday nights from 7 to 8pm. Guys finished off the league with a good win V Cremartin on Monday night. well done
lads, they have now topped the group with 12 points after 7 games which is a great achievement and a semifinal on the way.
U11’s: Training is every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 to 8pm in Tully. The lads overcame Seans last Saturday in a thrilling match where the 2 point score outside the shooting arc proved to be the decider between both clubs with Emyvale getting those vital 2 pointers to win the game – well done guys.
U9’s: Training will be every Wednesday and Friday from 7 to 8pm in Tully. Plenty more go games coming up.
U7’s: Training will be every Friday evening from 6 to 7pm in Tully. The kids had a great day in Cloghan for a blitz last Saturday. Well done everyone
County news: Last Saturday saw Donegal squeeze out Monaghan to take the points in the All-Ireland series. This leaves Monaghan with the task of taking on Kildare in Tullamore on Saturday in the prelim QF. Wishing Karl, Ryan and the extended Monaghan team and management the best of luck. A great Monaghan support will be expected in Tullamore as the Monaghan Minors face Kerry in the All-Ireland Minor Championship Semi Final which will also be in Tullamore. We wish Mathew, Andrew and Johnnie, who have all played such major roles in the games so far, all the best in the All-Ireland Semifinal V Kerry. What an achievement to get to this stage in the competition and only one kick away from an All-Ireland day out – come on lads – you can do it – good luck to all concerned.
U15 County News: Well done to Adam Treanor and Harry Hamill who played Down over two games last Saturday. They won one game and lost the second game. They have plenty of training over next few weeks and then a national blitz on July 8th. All the best lads
