Blackhill Annual Sports Day:

Blackhill Annual Sports day took place on Bank Holiday Monday June 5th in glorious sunshine. Our U-7’s and teams from Oram, Doohamlet and Toome were the stars of the show this year and served up some great football. Thank you sincerely to everyone who supported this traditional community event and to the club volunteers who organised and ran the event. Thanks also go to Brendan McMahon who sponsored the burger buns, and to Gerry Quinn and Donal Comiskey who part sponsored the burgers and the milk for the day.

Monaghan GAA:

Congratulations to Hugh Byrne, Aaron Kenn and all the hurlers on their great victory in the Lory Meagher Cup Final in Croke Park last Saturday.

Good luck to the Monaghan minor team and management in Saturday evenings All-Ireland QF v Mayo in Carraig.

Bereavements:

Blackhill GAA extend our sincere sympathy to the Murphy family, The Crescent following the recent passing of Gerry Murphy. RIP. Gerry was a great Gael, a pioneer in Monaghan Hurling and Camoige and he previously coached in Blackhill in a voluntary capacity. Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam dhílis.

We also extend our Sincere condolences to the Connolly and McGuinness families following the passing of the late Ian Irwin in England and formerly of Tattygar. Ian was a great supporter of our club down the years. Go ndeana Dia grasta ar a anam dílis.
