Intermediate League

We travelled to Cremartin last Sunday afternoon in the hope of adding to our opening day points tally but a combination of missed goal chances and two softly conceded ones ultimately contributed to our downfall. We started with intent and having missed three good early chances to find the Cremartin net it was the home side who found ours first albeit against the run of play. An Eddie Walsh penalty was the score that kept us in touch at the break 1-06 to 1-04 down.

Killian Collins scored a great goal early in the second half, but we just couldn’t capitalise on this and Cremartin were the more lively in attack and were able to find the target with greater ease than we were. Another softly conceded goal in the 40th minute opened up a 6-point gap for Cremartin that despite us chipping away at the scoreboard we were never able to claw back. Cremartin full value for their win but we would certainly be disappointed with the performance although its early days in the campaign. Final score Cremartin 2-15 Killanny 2-08

We have a week off now and will play Castleblayney in 2 weeks.
