Doohamlet G.F.C. Results:  Our Senior team played Toome in the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League Round 1 on Saturday evening last in Toome.  Doohamlet got off to a great start with a converted free in the opening minutes by Colin Walshe, followed by a second point from Barry Mc Bennett from another free.  Toome gets a point but Doohamlet takes the lead with a further three points from play with Barry Mc Ginn scoring two and Jason Mc Elroy with one.  Colin Walshe stretches the lead with a goal which came from great play from David Mc Ginn playing a great ball to Barry Mc Bennett who shoots but the Keeper palms it out and Colin finishes it off by placing it in the back of the net.  Toome hit back with three in a row but, Doohamlet replies quickly with three points in succession canceling out their scores with points coming from Barry Mc Ginn, Barry Mc Bennett, and Jamie Walshe.  The score at half-time was Doohamlet 1-8 Toome 0-5.  Toome opens up the second half with two consecutive scores and Barry Mc Bennett replies with a stunning point from the 45m line, Both teams trade scores, but a great run from Captain Barry Mc Bennett with a pass into Oisin O Neill who puts the ball into the back of the net gives Doohamlet the upper hand.  Our keeper James Casey takes off two great saves.  Kevin Mc Ardle replaces Hugh Mc Ginn as a blood substitute.  Doohamlet go on to strike a further two goals in succession the first from Barry Mc Ginn and the second from Sean Markey.  Toome hit a further two points.  Killian Walshe replaces Oisin O Neill and Emmett Mc Manus replaces David Mc Ginn.
