Lotto: The lotto was held on Sunday night last, which was our 30th anniversary special. There was no winner. The numbers drawn were 2,11,16 & 21. This week’s jackpot rises to €6,500. Social Centre: Social Centre: The Social Centre is back open every night. The kitchen is open every Sunday from 4pm. No booking is required. For any bookings of meetings for hall contact Tina on 087 333 2213

There is still availability for booking for Confirmation on the 19th of May. Please note the book is now full for First Holy Communion bookings.

The Social Centre caters for all functions ie parties, christenings, funerals and small weddings! The Aughnamullen Social Centre is now taking bookings for all functions. For any more information on bookings please contact Tina on 0873332213.

Seniors: Our senior team begin their 2023 Senior League campaign this Saturday the 15th of

April at home to Ballybay at 7pm. Best of luck to the team and management as they begin their second season back in the top flight of Monaghan football. Come out and show your support to the lads against the county champions.

Reserves: Our reserves recorded their first win of the season on Monday evening with a great 3-08 to 1-10 victory over Killanny at home. There will be a break in the Reserve league as the Senior League begins this weekend. Their next game in the league is away to Corduff on Wednesday the 10th of May at 7.45pm. We have been drawn at home to neighbours Latton in the Reserve Championship O’Duffy Cup on Sunday the 30th of April at 2pm. This fixture will be subject to change date and time. Keep an eye on social media for updates.

Upcoming events in the Social Centre

SAVE THE DATE: The OsKaRs fundraiser is coming to Aughnamullen GFC on Saturday the 7th of October 2023 in the Glencarn Hotel, Castleblayney! Keep the date free for what will be guaranteed to be a night not to be missed.

OsKaRs Launch Night: The Aughnamullen GFC OsKaRs Launch Night will take place this Saturday night the 15th of April in the Social Centre. On the night the roles for each actor and the film they will be in will be revealed. It will be sure to be a great night’s entertainment, the excitement is building up around the Parish and beyond as we wait to find out who will play what role! Doors open at 8.30pm, where there will be a complimentary glass of prosecco for each actor on arrival!

Live music: There will be live music by Brendan McCourt and Ciaran Lennon in the Social Centre on Sunday the 30th of April. Come along for what will be a great evening’s entertainment.

Poker Classic for Gary Casey: Aughnamullen Social Centre will host a Poker Classic in aid of Gary Casey’s Road to Recovery on Saturday the 22nd of April. Registration is at 6pm, kick off at 7pm, refreshments will be served on the night. All support appreciated.

Aughnamullen Ladies Present; Clash of The Clanns: Aughnamullen Ladies are hosting their fundraiser “Clash of the Clanns” on April 30th.

Each team must consist of family members only (siblings, parents, cousins, aunts/uncles, in-laws etc). Each team must have at least 2 ladies and 2 non active GAA members.

The rules of the blitz are as follows

• All participants must be Over 16

• 7 aside 3 subs

Registration starting at 1:15 and kick off at 2pm sharp.

There can only be one family to win the coveted title of Clash of the Clanns Champions and take home the Brendan Finnegan memorial shield. Will it be your family????

Aughnamullen Mothers and Others are holding a fundraising table quiz in the Aughnamullen Social Centre on Friday 21st of April at 8.30pm. 20 euro per table. All support appreciated.

Juveniles:

Under 18s: Our Under 18 team had 2 games postponed this week due to the adverse weather conditions and water logged pitches, which were fixed away to Killanny on Tuesday evening and home to Scotstown on Wednesday evening. Our Division 3 team take on Oram on Monday evening the 17th of April at 7.15pm in Oram. Our Division 2 team next play away to Drumhowan on Tuesday evening the 18th of April at 7.15pm. Best of luck to both teams. All support welcome.

Under 15s: Our Division 1 team started their league campaign with a brilliant 1-16 to 3-09 win over Castleblayney at home on Thursday evening last. Our Division 5A team also had a great win away to Castleblayney on a scoreline of 7-08 to 3-15 on Friday evening. On Sunday morning our Division 5B rounded off a brilliant start to the year for our Under 15 teams with a 4-18 0-04 win at home to Donaghmoyne. Our Division 1 side play away to Scotstown this Thursday at 7.15pm. Our Division 5A team play at home to Carrickmacross at 7.15pm this Friday. Our Division 5B team travel to Latton this Sunday at 12pm. Best of luck to all of the teams and management. All support welcome.

Under 9s: U9s Boys football is back every Wednesday evening on Astro for boys born 2014/2015. New players welcome.
