Toome Club Notes 23.03.2023

March 24th, 2023

Division 2B: The Division 2B Reserve League commenced last week on St. Patricks Day, with an away fixture to Doohamlet. Despite playing some good football in tough conditions and leading for most of the game, Doohamlet finished the stronger and kept attacking and pressuring in all areas of the field, the result was not to go in the favour of the visitors but this was a good effort on the first outing of the year. Some minor mistakes and ball spillage cost the visitors and this can be worked on. Next up is a home fixture against Sean McDermotts on Sunday 2nd April at 2:00pm. Please be sure to come along and support the lads. #BeThe16thMan.

Juvenile Training: Our youngest ballers (4 – 11 years) are back in action at St Victors Park and they continue to develop their skills with training each Saturday morning from 10:00am. All the children are having a great time and plenty of fun while making new friends as they develop their skills. Under 9’s and U11’s will also train on a Tuesday evening at 6:30pm on the main field, see you all there.
Please spread the word to your friends, family, neighbours and relations, new children are always very welcome. Thanks to all our coaches/mentors who give their time so generously
Club Membership: Club Membership for the forthcoming year is now due, it is essential to ensure that Club membership is paid to cover the cost of team affiliations, insurances and player injury fund. With that in mind we ask all our players, members and families to log in and pay their membership online in a safe and secure environment in the comfort of your home or on the go. Once again we are utilising Clubforce to facilitate the payment of membership. We ask that all members download the Clubforce app from the App Store or Google Play store, or you can click on the link here: https://member.clubforce.com/memberships_cart_m.asp?LL_ID=2409&clb=1 if viewing online.

Club membership is vital to the survival of the Club and please remember all players are required to have their membership completed to be covered for the Player Injury Fund. If you have any queries in relation to the Clubforce App please contact Damien O’Reilly on 087 125 2126

For anyone who wishes to pay directly to the Club Pete Devlin is the new Club registrar and will take payment or alternatively Dermot Reavey will also take payment.

Astro Pitch: Pitches available for hire, if you would like to make a booking, please call on 089 965 1828 to secure your slot.

Development Works: Huge effort this weekend with 1,300 bare root hedging planted by an extensive group of volunteers who gave up their time on Friday and Saturday. Fencing work around the pitch is almost complete this has been all completed voluntarily by Gerrard Kelly and would not have been done without the week in week out effort from two young club men Paudie Lambe and Stephen Kelly who worked in all weathers and never once complained, on behalf of all in the Club thank you lads, also on hand was Ryan Kelly. Boundary fencing was also completed with the tension mesh fitted and looks fantastic. Trees are arriving this week and if you are available to give an hour or two this Saturday, get in touch or just arrive at the field for 9am. Concreting works for the surrounding plinth is scheduled to start very soon with the mesh to the pitch fencing then to be installed. We need a big push to be ready for the season ahead with our opening game in St Victors Park scheduled for April 2nd, so if you can give any time at all it would be greatly appreciated. Please get in touch with either Club Chairperson – Gene Cumiskey on 087 918 6629 or Club Secretary – Ryan McMahon on 087 743 1970. We appreciate the efforts that everyone has shown and welcome any help that you can offer, remember this is all our club. #ÁrgClub
