Monaghan GAA Awards the club were to the fore at the Monaghan GAA Awards last Saturday night when Niall Garland scooped Senior Hurler of the Year and Thomas Hughes the Young Hurler of the Year awards. Brian McGuigan’s outstanding performance at inter county level was marked as he retires from County action while the club are delighted to retain his services. Congratulations lads and also to Barney McDonald (Hall of Fame) and Raymond Malone (Intermediate League Referee).

 

25th Anniversary of the Ulster and All Ireland Junior Hurling Championship the illustrious team of 1997 who won the All Ireland Junior Hurling Championship were acknowledged at the Monaghan GAA Awards last Saturday. The following are the Blayney Hurlers who were part of that team: Stephen Marron RIP (Kitman), Ciaran Connolly (Captain), Tom Gillanders, Dessie Reilly, Noel McGuigan, Jarlath Denny, David Connolly, Padraig Kelly, Sean McKernan, Hugh Cullen, Paul Cunningham, Barry O’Reilly & David Lennon.

 

Membership at a recent club meeting the following rates were agreed on: Juvenile €25, Juvenile Family €50, Adult €30 and Cairde €120.
