Monaghan Football & Hurling Development Squads have been busy over past couple of months competing in and preparing for National Competitions.

Our U16 Football Squad traveled to TU Blanchardstown on Saturday, 9th April to take on Dublin in the opening game in their group in the Buncrana Cup. It was the hosts who eventually came out on top after a tight game in warm conditions. In their second group game, Monaghan welcomed Down to Cloghan on Saturday, 7th May and got their first win on the board after a convincing performance. Our U16s will travel to Armagh for the final group game on 11th June with a place in the cup section for the knockout rounds still up for grabs.

Our U15 Football Development Squad commenced their Brian McLarnon Cup campaign on Saturday, 9th April by playing host to Cavan in Cloghan. Both counties had two teams who played one game each with Monaghan coming away with one win and one loss from both games. The second round of games for this squad saw them travel to Westmeath on on 7th May, again both counties had two teams with Monaghan taking home two victories on this occasion. The final round of group games for this squad sees them travel to Dublin on Saturday, 11th June.

Our u14 Football Squad have also been in action. They welcomed Armagh to Cloghan on Saturday, 9th April with each county bringing three teams to ensure that all players got plenty of game time. The U14 Squad then traveled to Donegal on Saturday, 14th June and again both counties brought 3 teams.

Our U15 Hurling Development Squad kicked off their season against Tyrone in the Hibernia Cup on Saturday, 23rd April with the hosts proving too strong on the day. The squad have been busy training since and preparing for their next fixture which sees them play host to Louth in Cloghan this coming Saturday, 21st may.
