Monaghan Coaching & Games hosted a 1st & 2nd class Primary Schools blitz for boys and girls on Wednesday, 6th April at the Entekra Monaghan GAA Centre of Excellence, Cloghan.

21 schools attended the blitz. Schools who attended on the day were Scoil Phádraig Garron, Scoil Phadraig Corduff, Convent Junior School Castleblayney, Killeevan NS, Scoil Bhríde Mullaghrafferty, Monaghan Boys NS, Gaelscoil Lorgan, St. Joseph’s Knockatallon, Blackstaff NS, Oram NS, Gaelscoil Ultain, Scoil Éanna Ballybay, Clara NS, Latnamard NS, Broomfield NS, All Saints’ NS Doohamlet, St. Michaels Corcaghan, St.Michaels NS Annyalla, Scoil Mhuire Latton, Corracrin NS.

In total, over 50 teams consisting of 300 boys and 200 girls took part in the blitz with each team getting to play a minimum of 5 games throughout the morning. Players got the opportunity to play in various different positions and there were plenty of skills on display from all teams. Most of all, the players who participated left the blitz with a smile on their face.

Monaghan Coaching & Games would to thank all the schools who took part and who made the blitz a huge success, the teachers and assistants who took their students to the blitz and the TY students from various Patrician High School, Our Lady’s Secondary School & Castleblayney College who came out to referee the games and to help the schools with mentoring/coaching their teams.
