Monaghan Football and Hurling Development Squads Update

Monaghan Coaching and Games are pleased to confirm that our U14 and U15 Football Development Squads and our U15 Hurling Development Squad will recommence this coming Saturday, 9th October at Entekra Monaghan GAA Centre of Excellence, Cloghan. Training for these squads will continue on Saturdays over the coming months and it is hoped that some matches will take place against neighbouring counties.

U14 Football Development Squad training will take place on Saturday from 9am until 11am and U15 Football Development Squad training will take place from 11:30am to 1:30pm.

What to bring: Own bottle of water & completed Health Questionnaire, come togged out & prepared for inclement weather.

Can all players please wear a white sock on their non-dominant foot as there will be coaching of the non-dominant side. 

We are inviting volunteers to help coach our Football Development Squad. If you would be interested in helping out, please contact Paul O’Connor on 086-8374827 or developmentmanagermonaghan@gaa.ie

U15 Hurling Development Squad training will take place from 12pm until 2pm on Saturday afternoon. The session will be delivered by Oisin McManus, Ulster Regional Hurling Development Officer. Oisin is from the Leitrim Fontenoys club in Down and plays for Down Senior Hurling Team.

What to bring: Own helmet, hurley and bottle of water & completed Health Questionnaire, come togged out & prepared for inclement weather.

We are also inviting volunteers to help manage and coach our U15 Hurling Development Squad. These volunteers will need to have an Award 1 Coaching qualification (Foundation level is adequate for now but for 2022 you will need an award 1), Monaghan GAA will assist those looking to gain this qualification and assist with squads. Garda Vetting and  Safeguarding workshop needs to be completed.
