As we look forward to getting back to playing our games I have attached a brochure from the National Health & Safety Committee and Europlan in relation to Stewards Training which can now be completed online. This online course will be fully accredited with the same content and learning outcomes as the current ‘in person’ traditional version. Both online and traditional courses will be available in the future and the fee will remain the same.

The process for applications is similar to the existing course in that a list of approved names and email addresses are sent by the County Secretary or their representative to Europlan. On completion of the course by all of the applicants, cards will be issued to the relevant county representative. Any new stewards should only be issued with their card following an onsite induction. Attached are guidelines from the NHSC on how new stewards should be provided with site specific inductions by ground management or event organisers after completing this course.

The course is valid for both new and existing stewards and some new content has been added to cover the risk associated with Covid-19. We have already successfully completed an online pilot course for 60 Croke Park Stewards (new and existing) and the feedback has been very positive. We would also welcome your feedback after other courses are delivered.
