Monaghan Harps Lotto: We are delighted to be able to resume our club lotto, using the ClubZap platform. The numbers for last Sunday’s draw were 3, 17, 25 and 29 and the four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were Michael McEntee c/o ClubZap; Dermot Brannigan c/o ClubZap; Linda Darby c/o Rose Donnelly; and Patrick Meehan c/o ClubZap. The sellers’ prize of €20 was won by Barry Sullivan. Jackpot for Sunday, August 2 is €6,000. The club is asking members willing and financially able to contribute through our lotto towards club maintenance and running expenses. This can be done by two options: set up a standing order to our club lotto via quarterly or annual payments or using our new club app by downloading ‘ClubZap’ on your phone, registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member and buying club lotto in bulk or on a weekly basis. Anyone interested can contact either Rose Donnelly (086 0825782); Maria McKenna (086 1057725) or Adrian Dalton (087 7859582). Thanks to everyone for their support. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday, while physical tickets should be with the lotto committee by 9pm.

Seniors: The McElvaney Recycling Intermediate Football Championship got underway last Saturday, when we hosted Doohamlet in a competitive Group Two opener. A slow start left us facing a 1-4 to 0-2 deficit at half-time, but an improved second-half performance saw us get back into it, with Conor McCrystal finding the net. Kevin Loughran, Dean Fanning, Neil McAdam and Dónal Hahessy were also on target, but Doohamlet were able to stay ahead throughout and they secured the two points on offer on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-9. We are away to Killanny this Sunday for a 2pm throw-in. Good luck to Paddy, Ryan, Steven and the panel.

Team and scorers: Conor Callan; Thomas Croarkin, Conn O’Hanlon, Jamie Shields; Oisín Fagan, Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh, Kevin Loughran (0-3); Aodhán Óg McAnespie (Capt.), Shane McMahon (0-1f); Michael Galligan, Shane Smyth, Niall Greenan; Nicholas Scott; Neil McAdam (0-1), Dean Fanning (0-2).

Subs: Conor McCrystal (1-0) for Greenan, Dónal Hahessy (0-2f) for Fagan (both H-T), Dean Doherty for Galligan, Remy McKenna for McMahon (both 46 mins), Evan Doherty for Smyth (57).

IFC tickets: Entry to this Sunday’s IFC game between Killanny and Monaghan Harps is also via ticket ONLY. Like last weekend each club will be issued with 55 supporter tickets. Applications for these tickets will be open to all paid-up members of Cláirsigh Mhuineacháin CLG. Non-members that apply will be considered if the allocation has not been used by members. If we have more than 55 requests, we will hold a draw on Friday and those who receive a ticket will be contacted with arrangements to collect their ticket. All tickets are non-transferable and unclaimed tickets will be reallocated to names on a standby list. Unlike last weekend, we will not be in a position to make alternative arrangements with people and if you do not collect your ticket it will become available to the next person on the standby list. Please note that juvenile members will also need a ticket to gain entry to the game and will be included in the 55 allocation. ALL tickets are priced at €10 and tickets must be paid for on collection. If you wish to apply for a ticket please text Nicola on 0864040161 before 3pm on Thursday giving the names of the members you are applying for. In the interest of fairness, please note that if you were allocated a ticket for the Doohamlet game and the Killanny game you may not receive a ticket to another game in the round-robin series. Please bring this information to the attention of any club members who may not follow our social media/online pages. Go raibh maith agaibh.

Pitches: Thanks to all the club members who have volunteered their time to keep our pitches in such good condition. We ask everyone to respect these efforts and to follow the guidelines in place. With competitive fixtures resuming, we have altered the training schedules and have communicated changes to all coaches.

Minors: Our U-17s are away to Cremartin this evening (Tuesday) at 7.30pm.

U-15: Our U-15s started their Division One campaign with a good win away to Carrickmacross last Thursday evening. Having fallen well behind at one stage, a spirited comeback saw our lads run out winners on a scoreline of 3-11 to 2-10. The Division Five Championship also begins in Carrick the following evening, when the hosts claimed the win by 4-15 to 4-6. The Division One Championship continues with a home game against Clones this Thursday at 7.30pm, while Friday’s Division Five fixture is at home to Castleblayney.

U-13: Our U-13 teams hosted Donaghmoyne last Saturday, when our Division One side claimed a good win. With the defenders and midfield working hard to provide a good platform for the forwards, our lads led from start to finish in this game, having made a blistering start with goals from Daniel Alexis, Shea Corrigan and Oisín Brannigan. Mark Lynch, Eoin Sheridan, Shane McGarry and Orrin Doherty all added their names to the lost of scorers in a prolific performance.

Team and scorers: Joe Gunn; Dáire McKenna, Rhys McCaffrey; Shay Lambe, Josh Cassidy, John Sherry; Mark Lynch (1-2, 0-2f), Eoin Sheridan (1-4); Shane McGarry (0-4f), Daniel Alexis (1-3, 0-1f), Orrin Doherty (2-0); Shea Corrigan (1-3, 0-2f), Oisín Brannigan (2-0).

The Division Five game saw roles reversed, with a strong Donaghmoyne side running out winners despite the best efforts of the young Harps side, whose panel included: Jack McMahon, Denas Nagulevicius, Joseph O’Neill, Charlie O’Brien (0-3), Rhys Coyle (0-1), Lewis Duffy, Ethan Grant, Daithí Devlin, Daniel Aughey, Daniel Jansons, Caolán Conlon.

Both teams are away to Castleblayney this Saturday.

Juveniles: Our Saturday-morning coaching for our youngest juveniles has resumed in recent weeks with good numbers taking part. We would like to thank all parents for their co-operation with the return-to-play protocol.

GAA return: Training has resumed for all age groups of football, hurling and ladies’ teams, on the understanding that players and all participants have completed the eLearning module and health questionnaire and are following the control measures in place. We are delighted as a club to be able to reopen our pitches after such a long break and we are grateful to our ever-willing volunteers and our Covid supervisors for their efforts in making this possible. Dressing rooms will remain closed until further notice, however, while there will also be restrictions in place regarding crowds at games in the coming weeks. We would like to encourage our players and everyone involved to continue to follow the relevant advice and guidance. Please see our social media for guidelines around attending games.

Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading ‘ClubZap’ on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.

Membership: Please note that any outstanding membership fees for this year should be paid as soon as possible, especially for players at all levels who are back at training. Registration can be paid to club registrar Kevin Treanor or using ClubZap. Fees are as follows: U-11s €20; juveniles/seniors €30; family membership €60.

Cúl Camp: The 2020 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp at Gavan Duffy Park is taking place this week; finishing on Friday.
