Monaghan GAA County Minors have decided to do a fundraiser for this little special lady – Milly
Milly is the youngest sister of our player/teammate Dylan Byrne and as a group we want to support the Byrne family as best we can! It’s a very trying time for most family’s at the minute but the Byrne’s have been through a very difficult time of late when little Milly who is just 22 months old fell seriously ill very quickly in early March. Milly suffered heart failure. She was transferred from Drogheda Hospital to Crumlin Children’s Hospital within a matter of hours and on the 17th of March she was transferred to the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle UK, underwent further tests and was diagnosed with a condition called Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Milly is now waiting on a heart transplant and will have to stay in the UK until she gets one.
Heart Children Ireland has supported Milly and her family from the beginning, so, we are raising funds for the Blue Ribbon fund proudly managed by Heart Children Ireland. This fund supports families on their transplant journey with their child. All funds raised will go directly to Heart Children Ireland’s Blue Ribbon Fund which is a lifeline for families on this very difficult journey.
Our concept is simple. We are asking you to walk or run a mile for Milly, nominate 5 friends and donate (if you are in a position to do so.) Use the hashtag #amileformilly and send us in a selfies you wish!!
We are doing this fundraiser in conjunction with Magheracloone Mitchells and all money raised is going to the same foundation.
