All-Ireland Club Championships update

December 13th, 2019

Two Monaghan sides will be in action in the AIB All-Ireland Club Football Championship Semi-Finals on Saturday, January 11, 2020. Magheracloone’s IFC clash with Mattock Rangers (Louth) has been set for Crossmaglen, while St. Conleth’s Park in Newbridge has been named as the venue for Blackhill’s semi-final. Fresh from a seven-point win over Thomas McCurtains (London) in last Sunday’s quarter-final, Blackhill’s next test will be against Rathgarogue-Cushinstown (Wexford).

AIB Ulster Club Intermediate Football Championship Final

Magheracloone 1-15 Galbally 0-13                         30/11/19

Magheracloone booked their place with an impressive Ulster Club IFC Final win over Galbally in Armagh. The accuracy of the likes of goal-scorer Paudie McMahon and veteran Tommy Freeman helped Magheracloone push ahead of their Tyrone opponents en route to a well-earned win. The introduction of Michael Murphy gave Galbally a spark during the final quarter as they closed the gap, but Magheracloone maintained their composure as they became the first Monaghan winner of the Packie McCully Cup since 2013.
