Clontibret and Scotstown contest SFC Final

Clontibret and Scotstown contest Sunday’s Greenfield Foods SFC Final in Clones after both taking the direct route through the championship and coming through tough semi-finals.

Greenfield Foods Senior Football Championship Semi-Final

Clontibret 1-10 Latton 0-11                                     6/10/19

Clontibret qualified for the SFC Final for the ninth time since 2006 when they held off a comeback from Latton in Castleblayney. Dessie Mone scored the only goal to leave Clontibret in command and they led by eight points going into the final quarter, by which stage they had been reduced to 14 men. Latton came right back into contention with six unanswered scores, but Brian Greenan became Clontibret’s eighth scorer when his fisted point ended a 24-minute barren spell for his side and secured a narrow win.
