Blayney Reserves Capture Division 1B Title

Castleblayney 6-16, Killanny 1-10. .
A stronger, more clinical Castleblayney ultimately eased to victory in this entertaining if somewhat one sided contest in the latter stages, to clinch the reserve football league division 1A title at the expense of Killanny in Pairc Emmet, Carrickmacross on Friday evening last.
Castleblayney led form gun to tape but Killanny were well in this contest until the early stages of the 3rd quarter when Castleblayney blitzed them with 3-4 in the space of 9 minutes and that effectively sealed the issue. Up until then Killanny had been meaningfully in the game and it was not as one-sided in the outfield exchanges as the final score line would suggest but in the end Castleblayney had too great a range in their armoury as they defended strongly in the second half, restricting Killanny to a mere 2 points while hitting them with 4-7 to run out comprehensive winners, having led by just 4 points at the break, 2-9 to 1-8.
