Platinum Tanks Reserve Football League Division 2A Final

Ballybay 3-17  Carrickmacross 1-10

Ballybay proved too strong for Carrick in the RFL Division 2A final that took place in Blackhill on Saturday last the 11th of August.  Shane Monaghan opened the scoring for Ballybay and they had 3 points on the board before the Emmetts opened their account. For the first quarter  both teams were pretty even and that remained the same until Darragh Drury scored a goal for Pearse Brothers. to leave it 1-5 to 0-3 . Ballybay then went on a scoring spree before half time  with 5 unanswered points and all Carrick could muster before half time was a solitary point to leave them well ahead at 1-10  to 0-4.

Ballybay opened the half again strongly and by the end of the 3rd quarter were even further ahead after scoring 1-6 to Carrick’s 0-3 and the game at this point was over as a contest . Carrick did manage to score a goal  from the boot of Aaron Murray but that was only a consolation score  as Ballybay kicked another 1-1. The goal came from Patrick O’ Neill to leave the full time score at the end  Ballybay 3-17 Carrickmacross 1-10.
