Na Magha too strong for Carrick

AIB ULSTER CLUB JUNIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Na Magha (Derry) 3-15, Carrickmacross HC 1-5

A sharper, more experienced Na Magha proved too strong in practically every department for a young Carrickmacross side in what turned out to be a fairly one sided affair, particularly in the second-half in Castleblayney on Sunday last. Conditions were difficult which did affect the standard of play but Na Magha were always in control after they opened with 3 early points and they were well worth their five points halftime lead, 1-7 to 1-2. Na Magha essentially wrapped up victory in the 3rd quarter with an unanswered 2-5 in the opening 12 minutes and Carrickmacross wide from a penalty not helping their cause. In the final 10 minutes Carrickmacross did pull back a couple of  points but Na Magha closed it out with late strikes from Ciaran McCarron and Breandan Quigley to record a comfortable victory.
