Scotstown Club Notes

July 1st, 2017

Notes 23/6/17

Feile

Well it’s been and gone. I doubt there was a soul in the county that didn’t come across an U14 from some part of the world. It was a pleasure and a privilege to Host Cuala Boys and New York Girls. Our own Girls made it to the shield semi final where the went down to the worst possible outcome a late goal after leading from the opening whistle. New York won their semi on Sunday morning in Kilmore and a large number of their Scotstown supporters travelled over to Clones to watch them take on Kilkenny City in the final. It was just a bridge too far for the state siders and they were beaten by 4 points. Our Boys worked hard but there was no joy for either our lads or their visitors.

From ground staff to bar staff and everybody involved in between the effort was huge, and the ease with which we were able to coordinate a crowd of over 600 people on Sunday morning was a credit to everybody involved. I’ll take this opportunity to say thanks to all.

Best of Luck

Good luck to Monaghan Ladies on Sunday when they take on Donegal in the Senior Ladies Ulster Final.

Ciste

The Ciste will be held on this Saturday Night 1st July in the Complex

Results

Our Juniors had a hard fought draw with Killeevan last  Wednesday.

The Senior B’ took the O’Duffy Cup back to Scotstown after beating Truagh in Emyvale on Sunday. After a bright start Scotstown didn’t convert a number of goal chances and as a result were only 3 up at the break (0-9 to 0-6). A goal and a point from Truagh put the game in the melting pot but steady heads and cool nerves took Scotstown over the line on a score line of score line of 0-17 to 1-9.
