FEILE 17: This was a unique event and Doohamlet GFC were proud to be part of such a wonderful occasion. We hosted Dicksboro GAA club from Kilkenny and we congratulate them on winning their division. Special praise for Eamon Hughes and Noeleen McBennett for their efforts behind the scenes to make for such an enjoyable weekend. We thank the host families, tea makers, cake bakers, food servers, photographers, match officials, groundsmen, parents, players, mentors and committee members who all contributed to a most enjoyable weekend. Saturday night was a sight to behold with two clubs meeting and enjoying all that is good about the GAA. Thanks to Alexis and Marion for the use of their facilities as both clubs mingled and watched the big game on TV. Also thank you to Stephen Duffy who tried in vain to run a quiz but such was the craic Stephen had his work cut out to convey his questions to a lively audience.

All in all a wonderful weekend and we wish Dicksboro GAA all the best in the future.

Ulster Championship: A slight downer on Saturday evening as Monaghan just came up short against a determined Down side in the semi final of the Ulster Championship. Just one of those nights that nothing seemed to go right but no doubt Colin and his Monaghan team mates will show their character and come back stronger in the All Ireland series.
