Ladies

Feilé

With FEILÉ only days away the final countdown is officially on and the Corduff club is a hive of activity for what is the biggest festival of Gaelic games in the country. The activities kick off next Friday 23rd June at lunchtime, when we welcome our 2 visiting clubs Boston from the US and Balyna from Kildare to the Corduff/ Raferagh area for a fun-filled weekend.

Corduff is a venue for the Division 6 girls competition with teams from Corduff, Kildare, Cavan, Hertfordshire, Lancashire and Fermanagh all participating and we are looking forward to welcoming these clubs to Corduff for the group stage of the competition. The first games are at 4pm.

On Saturday morning we play our visiting club Balyna before heading off to Cloghan for the quarter finals. See the Corduff Gaels Facebook for more updates re this exciting weekend!

Under 12

Our U12’s travelled to Inniskeen for their first U12 match last Friday. This was a very significant match for the ladies club as it’s the first time in 6 years that we’ve had an U12 team. Following on from the success of the GAELIC4GIRLS last year the girls put in a brilliant team effort.

The girls proudly wore their new set of jerseys and the Ladies club would like to extend a massive thank you to Tom Walsh from Ritchie Brothers who sponsored the jerseys.

The girls now look forward to playing Magheracloone at home this Sunday at 12 noon in their second group match and we wish them good luck.

Under 14

Our U14’s recorded their first win of the league last week away to Scotstown.

It was a very one sided affair with Corduff dominating from the start. The girls are now eagerly looking forward to FEILÉ.

Juveniles

Under 8 / Under 10

Corduff hosted a double blitz on Thursday, June 8th, for U8 & U10 teams. Our U8 & U10 teams played a number of games against the visiting clubs and played very well. See our Facebook page for photos from the blitz.

Under 12

Our U12s are going well in Division 3 of the Football League. A win at home in round 2 against Tyholland and a hard fought draw in round 3 away to Sean McDermotts has them nicely positioned in 3rd place. They face Donaghmoyne, at home, in round 4. That game throws in at 7.30pm on Tuesday June 20th.

Under 14

Our U14s are through to the Division 4 Championship semi-final after beating Killeevan in the quarter final. They play Aughnamullen in the semi final on July 8th. The League Cup starts o Saturday, June 17th. Corduff, Aughnamullen, Rockcorry and Sean McDermotts will battle in out in a round robin format for a place in the final. First up for Corduff is a trip to Seans on Saturday.

Under 14 Development Squad

Monaghan’s U14 Development Squad travelled to Garvaghey, Tyrone, to take part in an U14 Blitz on Saturday past. Monaghan are currently carrying 80 players with this group and will use these blitzes to reduce the squad over the coming months. 23 clubs are currently represented with this squad. Monaghan had 3 teams participating and these teams got the opportunity to play 3 games against Tyrone, Down and Armagh. Corduff’s representatives on the squad were Diarmaid Marron, Ryan Walsh and Danny Robinson.
