Lá na gClubanna 2017

To mark this year’s lá na gclubanna events will feature a host of activities from 1.30pm to 6pm next Sunday the 7th. Centerpiece of the day will be the ‘Marathon Match’ involving the U14 Boys and Girls panels and a few special invited guests. Starting at 2,the match will last for 3 hours using 2 panels of roll on rolling off subs. The match is a fund raise for the upcoming Feile, which is just 6 weeks away.

Vegas Experience

Tickets are selling well around the parish as the faithful knock on doors to ask people to support this club fundraiser. Last Saturday saw a dry run in the complex when 20 croupiers (lads that run the tables, I had to ask too) from all round the club were introduced to the subtleties of running a real Vegas table. Each  picked the game they fancied and learned about the rules (did you know that pontoon and Blackjack are not the same game). Doors will open @ 8.00pm on Saturday 13th (it will be lucky for somebody). Remember the top 10 ‘Vegas Dollar’ earners will compete for the top prize at the end of the night. If nothing else the joy of watching so of the clubs top ‘players’ on and off the pitch, ‘suited and booted’ will be worth the entry fee.

Results

The Minors went down to Killanny in a game where both sides had their chances.  The U16’s came up against a strong Carrick side. Playing against a team with 8 players that took the Brock Cup to south Monaghan they were always going to be a tough assignment. The U14 Girls teams had very competitive games on Monday night last.. Both lost but are showing strong improvement. The Seniors Men had a topsy turvy game against Killany and after going down to 14 men before halftime had to dig deep to hold on to the 8 point lead they had built up. Final score Scotstown 4-12 Killanny 3-7. Juniors lost by a point as a result of a goal from a last minute penalty, doesn’t get more heartbreaking than that. The senior ladies continue go from strength to strength.  Great to see so many returning from injury and putting in the hard work.Congratulations to the players, parents and mentors of the U11s & U12s who represented the club so well in Cloghan on Saturday at the Spring League finals

Donaghmoyne(0-5) v(0-22)Scotstown

Monaghan Harps(0-12) v(0-6)Scotstown

Well Done to the Future blues who reached the final of the shield and the semi final of the cup @ the Ballinderry blitz on Monday last.
