Seniors

Last Saturday we made the short trip to Aghabog in what was expected to be a tight affair. In the first half we struggled to get a hold of the game and went in at half time with a 2 point margin.

As the 2nd half started we upped the tempo and soon got the score board rolling with Tommy Monaghan and Conor Leonard kicking some nice points. With Calvin Carlise and Corey McAree covering serious group up and down the wings to keep the supply to the forwards going, we soon pulled well ahead and finished the 2nd half with 3-13 from play.

Another brilliant performance by all involved and we now sit in 4th place in the league.

Final score Eire og 4-16 Aghabog 1-6.

Next up is our other Neighbours Killeveen this Friday night at home with a throw in at 7.30pm.

U12’s

Eire og V Ballbay

A shaky start was soon forgotten about as the team worked together with some great passing moves to take a three-point lead at half time. In the second half our players did not quit in attack and recorded a 6 point win and their 1st win of the year.

It was three of our girls who shone brightest on the day. Casey Mc Aree seemed to be everywhere again and Molly O Connor showed how it should be done with hard work and skill, while Lily Monaghan was on top form with an impressive 2-5. Training on Thursday at 5.45

Spring League Final

Our U12’s travelled to Cloghan on Saturday last for the Spring League finals. We were up against our local rivals Sean Mc Dermott’s. The first half was not easy, not only were the Sean’s a well drilled side with some good players but our lads and lassies had to also battle against a very strong breeze that ended in a disappointing 11 points to no score at half time.

However in the second half the defence got to grips with the game and kept the Sean’s scoreless for the first 15 minutes while Lily Monaghan, Gary Smith & Kieran Mullaney picked up 3 unanswered scores. Jake Lambe and Aodhan Boylan both excelled in defence in the second half. Sadly it was too little too late, so on to the Summer League. Training on Thursday at 6.00pm.
