May 19th, 2017

Platinum Tanks RFL Div 2 A – So it finally happened –  one of our adult teams secured a win. Last Wednesday the 10th of May the Bs secured a one point win over Tyholland with the full time score Drumhowan 1-11 Tyholland 2-7 After 15 Minutes Drumhowan had raced into a 1-4 to 0-1 lead with the goal coming from Mark Mc Cabe.  However Tyholland came back into it with a goal and a few points of their own.  As the first half wore on Drumhowan gained the upper hand and further points from Mark Mc Cabe left the half time score Drumhowan 1-8 Tyholland 1-2.

Drumhowan open the second half as they finished the first and in the first 10 minutes added another 3 points, two coming from frees by Mark Mc Cabe and another from Ciaran Duffy.  At this stage Drumhowan had an 8 point advantage and everything seemed on course for a win.  Tyholland then had their best spell of the game as the home team faltered  and let the visitors scored 1-5 without reply in the remaining twenty minutes. Some resolute defending at the same time meant Drumhowan hung on to  win by a point.
