Youth Affairs

The Under 12’s Division 4 teams have now been confirmed as follows: Currin, Killeevan, Toome, Rockcorry, Cremartin, Aughnamullen, Doohamlet, Eire Og. The league wll be played on a single game basis and the top four will play off for the Cup, with the bottom four playing off for the Shield. The first Currin U12 summer League game of the year against Killeevan was postponed due the sad and untimely death of Mena Kierans, Clones, mother of coach Kieran Kierans. Our deepest sympathy to Kieran and his family at this very sad time.

Patrick Emmett’s Under 14’s, sitting of top of Division 3, travel to Killanny on Saturday 20th May with a throw in time of 12 noon. Bus details by text message.

Patrick Emmett’s Under 16s, lost out to Sean MacDiarmada last week on a scorleine of 3 09 to 7 09. Our next game is away to Castleblayney on Thursday 25th May at 8:15pm.

Currin Under 8’s travelled to Emyvale for the ‘Go Games’ blitz on Saturday last and put on a strong showing. The good numbers turning up for Saturday morning training meant that we could field two teams on this trip. Well done to all the children and the parents that travelled to support.

Training continues on Saturday mornings for U6’s, U8’s, U10’s and U12’s from 9:30 to 10:30. All new members very welcome.

Seniors

Best of luck to our men, Jack and Kevin, and both Monaghan teams in their opening games in the Ulster championship against Fermanagh on Saturday evening next. Our next club game will be in the championship against Drumhowan on Friday 26th May in Smithboro at 7.45 pm.

Feile.

Feile is fast approaching and we in Patrick Emmett’s will be hosting the O Hanrahan’s Club from Carlow. A meeting of the two clubs has been organised to finalise proceedings for the weekend.

Michaela Foundation,

The Michaela Foundation Summer Camp is running from the 17th-21st of July 2017. It’s for all young girls ages, 11-13. Enrolment for the Monaghan summer camp based in Clones is now open. Our local Currin contact is Rebecca Murphy. Places are limited so secure your place now.

Recent bereavement,

Currin G.F.C. would like to sympathise with the extended Kearns family on the recent death of Mena Kearns, O Neill Park, Clones. R.I.P. Mena, mother of Kieran, Currin player, committee member and mentor, passed away last weekend after a long illness. Currin club members were prominent among the large numbers who attended her funeral in Clones last Sunday. We extend our condolences to all her family and friends especially to Kieran, Fionnuala, Tiarnan, Killian and Cara. Go ndeana Dia trochaire ar a ainm dilis.
