On the field

Well it certainly was a busy Easter period for all the teams of the club. Our minors who are amalgamated with Eire Og had their 2nd outing in Division 3 of the league with an away game to Clontibret. It was a very keenly contested encounter with the O Neill side pulling away in the end to win by 3-08 to 0-11, The next outing for St Marys/Na Mullai is against Patrick Emmetts with a date to be confirmed. The Aghabog/Currin side are currently top of the table with 2 wins from 2. Our senior side have yet to find their form having suffered defeats at the hands of Sean Mc Dermotts and Eire Og, unfortunately the games are coming thick and fast at the moment and the panel has been heavily effected by a number of knocks and injuries. Credit has to go to the sides who have taken to the field, in particular a number of players who have come out of “retirement” to pull on the green Jersey and also to our younger players who are gaining invaluable experience of senior grade football. With a number of the regulars hoping to make a return shortly, we know the results will start going in our favour. It is better news on the youth front as our U16’s are putting in some great performances with a victory over Castleblayney on Thursday last, while the U12’s were also in winning form with victory over Currin on Easter Monday.

Upcoming Fixtures

The senior side will be glad of a weekend off to help with recovery to a number of injury concerns, while our minors fixture with Patrick Emmetts has been postponed due to a bereavement with an alternative date to be confirmed. They are back in action on Tuesday 25th with an away game to Cremratin at Shamrock Park at 7:30 the U16’s will be in action as they make the trip to Killanny on Thursday evening with a throw in time of 7:15 and the U14’s welcome Eire Og to Pairc Mhuire at 2pm on Saturday. Our U10’s have their first blitz of the year when they travel to Threemilehouse this Saturday morning at 10am. Best of luck to all teams and management and as always your support at any of the fixtures for the teams is greatly appreciated.
