CLUB NOTES

LOTTO

There was no Lotto winner this week. The numbers drawn were 05, 18, 26 and 28. Congratulations to our Lucky Dip winners: Ronan Freeman (DD), Seamus Reilly, Greg Madden and Anthony Campion (Online), who each receive €50. Next week’s Jackpot is €1,300. MEMBERSHIP

May 1st is the deadline to have your membership/insurance paid. Membership can be paid online at www.magheracloonemitchellsgaa.ie, to any of the coaches at training or to any Executive Committee member. Please note if you are not a member of the club you are not insured to play. The club therefore will not cover the cost of any injuries incurred during training or games.

U10 Blitz in Killanny from 10:00 to 12:00.

U14 RD4 Magheracloone V Cremartin in Magheracloone at 2:00

 

RESULTS

Senior

An under strength senior team had a disappointing result on Saturday evening as they took on Scotstown in the third round of the league. They battled hard throughout the game but unfortunately came up short in the end. Final score: Magheracloone 1:08 V Scotstown 1:12.   

MINOR

The minor team finally got off the mark adding one point to their league table with a well-earned draw to Killanny on Tuesday evening. This was a tightly contested game from start to finish. Final Score Magheracloone 2:10 V Killanny 2:10. Team: Ryan Farrelly, Aidan Carolan, Jack Doogan, Daniel Mc Connon, David Martin, Conor McKeown, Cieran McMahon, Niall Marron, Barry Kieran (1-1), Gary Marron, Jonathon Donnelly (0-1), Ryan McNulty (1-1), Ronan Mc Keown (0-4), Dylan Mc Cahey (0-2) and Mogie (0-1). Subs: Dylan Tuite for Mogie, David Mc Ardle for Gary Marron.

U16’S

Hard luck to our U16 team who were defeated by a stronger Donaghmoyne side.

U12’S

Well done to our U12 team who have now qualified for the spring league final after defeating Cremartin on Saturday. Well done to all involved. Good luck in the final. Final Score: Magheracloone 5:13 V Cremartin 3:06.

U14 COUNTY TRIALS

Well done to the following U14 players who have been selected to attend the third round of trials for the U14 county development squad panel. Dylan Farrelly, Michael Mc Cullough, Rory Mc Mahon, Daniel Mc Cahey, Dylan Byrne, Ben Mc Connon and Allan Mahon. Trials take place in Cloughan on the 18th of April at 3:30.

EASTER CAMP

The Easter Camp will take place from Tuesday the 18th to Thursday the 20th in Magheracloone from 10am to 2:30pm each day. If you have not registered, you can still do so on Tuesday morning. The cost is €40 for the first child and €35 for each additional sibling. We hope everyone enjoys the camp and has lots of fun.

BROCK CUP FINAL

Best of luck to Jack Doogan, Ryan Farrelly and David Mc Ardle and the Patrician High School’s third year team in the A schools Danske Bank Brock Cup Final, which will be played in Silverbridge, Co. Armagh on Monday the 24th at 6pm.

SYMPATHY

Magheracloone Mitchells would like to extend its sympathy to John and Rose Martin on the deaths of Rose’s two brothers, Michael and Noel Nash, Kilcurry, Dundalk. May they rest in peace.

WELL DONE

Well done to all our juveniles who took part in the ladies 5K Fun Run on Saturday. Congratulations also to the ladies club on hosting another very successful run.    

LADIES NOTES

SENIORS

Our senior played Corduff last Friday, we were up by 1-7 with just 10 minutes of the game played. Half time score 1:10 V 0:06. Corduff were quick to come back with a goal in the first few minutes of the second half which proved to be another exciting 30 minutes of football. Final Score: 2:14 V 3:11.

MINORS

Our minors played Castleblayney last week and after a great team performance we came away with a great win. Final score: Magheracloone 6-13 V Castleblayney 0-02. Scorers: Grace (0-6), Megan (5-2), Lauren (1-1) and Karla (0-4).

U16’S

Our U16’s travelled to Doohamlet on Monday last but were pipped at the post in the final minutes of the game.

U14’S

Our U14’s played Killeevan at home last Monday and after a lively first half, all was even at half time but unfortunately Killeevan came away winners.

COUCH TO 5K

Our annual 5K took place last Saturday. The sun shone down on us and we had a great attendance yet again. A special thanks to all who supported us on the day and to our sponsors, Colm Kieran, Magheracloone Service Station, Farney Foods Ltd, Lidl, Mac Fab, Cabra Castle, ASM Chartered Accountants, O’ Gorman’s, Super Value and Kingspan. Also, a big thank you to all who helped on the day, the participants, the stewards, people who donated food, the community centre and Damien Martin for supplying the sound system and erecting the signs. Also, a big thank you to Edel Gargen and Susan Mc Cahey for running the couch to 5K for the fourth year in a row.
