Monaghan county matters.

Monaghan men finished their NFL Div 1 campaign going down to Dublin in a cracking game in Clones. Another stellar performance from Jack merited the ‘Man of the Match’ award. And not forgetting the Monaghan Ladies, with Ellen scoring nine points to set up a win over Armagh and earn another tilt at the Orchard county next week.

Committee matters

Monthly meeting with ‘Fundraising’ high on the agenda takes place on Thursday evening 6th April at 9.00p.m. in the clubrooms.

Recent bereavement,

Currin G.F.C. would like to sympathise with Tommy Connolly, on the recent death of his brother Pat Connolly, R.I.P. Pat, formerly from Tullalust, Scotshouse, had emigrated to and resided in Birmingham, England, many years ago. Pat had recently celebrated his eighty ninth birthday. We extend our condolences to his wife and especially to Tommy, who is a great G.A.A. supporter. Go ndeana Dia trochaire ar a ainm dilis.

Cake Sale

Currin juveniles will hold their Annual Cake Sale on Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday after mass. This is an ideal way to spoil yourself after the rigours of

Lent and at the same time support a very worthy cause by either baking and or buying.

Congratulations

Well done to Currin’s youthful Terry Mc Entee and veteran Brian Mc Cabe who were honoured for their fantastic sporting achievements by Monaghan County Council this week. Terry was recognised for his achievement in winning the Irish Youth Championship and European Youth bronze medal in 2016. Brian was recognised for his quite remarkable 59 consecutive years as Currin’s treasurer. Congratulations Brian and Terry.

Best wishes

Congratulations and best wishes to Hughie Fay and Helen Maynes who got married recently. Tyrone and Monaghan coming together can only mean good for Currin football in the future. We wish them well.
