Up and up it goes, The TOP 4 LOTTO Jackpot is now at €11,300 after there was no winner of the draw on Monday night past. The weekly lucky dip winners were Brendan Mc Phillips Rockcorry, K.O Hart Rockcorry, Seamus & Noeleen Treanor Silverstream, Nicky Calvert Rockcorry, Ben & Bernie Duffy Rockcorry, Patrick Sheridan Rockcorry, Joseph Rooney Rockcorry, Aiden Sheridan Rockcorry. Next weeks draw takes place in the Stag Inn Newbliss. Thank you for you continued support of our LOTTO and remember to get your numbers in.

National Football League

A long journey is always made shorter when you have a victory to savour and it certainly was the case for the Monaghan team and their supporters back from Killarney last weekend, after Malachy O’ Rourkes side claimed the league points with a sweet 1 point victory over Kerry. We are mindfully aware that it was only a league game in February, but the Kingdom are a proud bunch and to beat them in their own back yard is a win well worth savouring. That result has placed the Monaghan team at the top of the Division 1 league table and it gets better as the Hurlers are also top of the Division 3A table having made it 3 wins from 3 with victory over Louth on Sunday in Darver. Fine times for the Farney county. Both codes will be back in action this weekend with the footballers heading to Omagh to take on Tyrone on Saturday night at 7pm, there will be plenty of watching on the weather this week to see if Healy park will be playable, while the hurlers welcome Louth to Inniskeen on Sunday at 2pm.

Ladies National football league.

The Monaghan ladies also made the long trip down to Kerry at the weekend and unfortunately for Paula Cunninghams side, they were unable to pick up any league points as they went down to the Kingdom in Listowel. It is a break from intercounty action for the ladies for a number of weeks with Monaghans next opponents been the All Ireland champions Cork on March 18th

Fundraising Table Quiz. – Thank you

Thank you to everyone who attended our fundraising Table quiz on Friday night last. A great evening of knowledge, laughs and banter was had by all with funds been raised for the juvenile members of the club. Thanks to Mossy and Linda who organised the quiz, as well as everyone who helped out on the night.

Referee Training

A Basic training course for new referees will be held on Friday the 3rd of March and will consist of a further 2 sessions on Tuesday the 7th of March and Friday the 10th. Anyone interested in becoming a referee are asked to forward their names to any committee member. It needs no reminding that without officials we would have no games.

Good luck.

The club would like to extend their best wishes to club great Damien Matthews who has transferred to Killeagh GAA in Cork. Damien has been an absolute warrior for the club and has certainly represented the Rockcorry GAA club with pride & passion every time he wore the the ‘Green & White’ jersey. Good luck Damien and thank you for everything, you have provided us with some magical moments and given us some wonderful memories. All the best with your new club but we hope Rockcorry blood will still be in your veins
