Club Notes – 16/03/17

Sraith Tacaíocht/Reserve League.

Cill Laobhain 3.11 V 4.09 Eodhruin: Home game i bPáirc na Sáirséalaigh Sunday 12th March át 2pm. As narrow a defeat as it gets. Particularly disappointing given the inexplicable way the final Oram point came about. Ach, sin sin, beidh lá eile againn. Not a great start in the first half where we gifted Oram too many scores. Indeed had they taken their chances the half time score would have been much worse that 1.03 V 3.02 that it was. Sa dara leath Killeevan showed much more of the skill and determination that these players are capable of. With some great defending, an exhibition of score taking by John McGuirk among others we clawed our way back. With just 3 minutes to go a goal, following great work by our lads, put us a point up. But a free for Oram equalled matters. Finally a bizarre refereeing decision from a throw up give Oram a free on the 25m, which was duly slotted over for the win. Nevertheless there was a lot of positives to be taken from what was a battling second half performance. Ag tnuath chuig an chéad ceann eile. Maith sibh lads.

Traenáil na n-Óg/Juvenille Training

Beidh traenáil do gach aois grúpa fógraithe le teasc. Training for the all juvenile age groups will be notified by text.

Ciorcal Comhrá/Conversation Circle.

Beidh an Ciorcal Comhrá ann don dara uair sa mhí seo ar an Mairt seo chugainn. Irish Conversation Circle returns for the second time this month on Tuesday 21st March in the Heritage House, Lios Darach at 9pm. So if you’re interested in brushing up on your conversational skill as Gaeilge, whatever level that may be, why not join us? Einne atá ag iarraidh a gcuid Ghaeilge a fheabhsú, seo do dhéis! Tá fáilte roimh achan duine. All welcome, from just a ‘Cúpla focail’ to fluent.

Club na mBan/Ladies Club

Cill Laobhain 5.05 V 10.08 Cill Éanna: Páirc na Sáirséalaigh Sunday 12th March. An chéad cluiche sinsir na mná Cill Laobhain raimh. Lá stairiúl don chlub agus do na himreoirí. Maith sibh uilig. Many thanks to all the Killeevan Senior ladies who created their own bit of club history today, becoming the first Killeevan Senior ladies to take to Páirc na Sáirséalaigh. While it was a game that ended in defeat, the manner in which the players took to the task, particularly in the second half, after a slow start is a credit to you all and your management team. Huge credit too, to the ladies executive members, since the foundation of the ladies club in 2009, your work helps to create historic days like Sunday, and those efforts are very much appreciated by all.
