Drumhowan Club Notes

Platinum Tanks RFL Div 2A  – The B’s suffered another last Saturday 25th of March when they lost on a full time score line Killanny 2-16 Drumhowan 1-9. The next game for this team is this Saturday 1st April  at 6pm when they make the short journey to Pearse Park to take on fellow parishioners Ballybay.
 
Connolly Meats Minor Division 1  The minors started their campaign last Tuesday 28th March  at home in Drumhowan to Scotstown, Check social media for result. Next Tuesday the 4th  of April  its away  at 6.30pm to Donaghduff  who are the amalgamation of the 3 previous winners of the Division 1 Championship  – Donaghmoyne and Corduff.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg U16 Division 1 – The U16s open their campaign on Thursday 30th March in Ballybay against Castleblayney while next week the game is away to Carrick on Friday 7th April at 6.45pm
 
Gerry’s Prepared Veg U14 Division 3    Killanny 8-14 Drumhowan 8-14 – The U14s drew with Killanny on Saturday last  25th of March in a very high scoring exciting game. Well done to both teams. The next U14 game is away to Doohamlet on Saturday April 8th at 2pm.
U12  Spring League – The U12s  are away to Clones on this Saturday 1st April at 2pm. All players should be in Clones for 1.30pm.
 
Community games U10 – Drumhowan along with Ballybay will be entering a parish Tullycorbet team this year again. Details re training will be sent out when available.
U6-8  – Training for these ages resumed on Monday evening last with a good crowd in attendance. It continues on the pitch from 7-8pm each Monday evening and new players are very welcome to come along and join in the fun and games. Go games matches will commence towards the end of April.
CE Worker – The club has a vacancy for a CE worker around the pitch and grounds and another vacancy for a cleaner in the Centre on the TUS programme. You must have been unemployed for the past year and be on social welfare to qualify. Contact Gerry Finnegan or Tommy Mc Ardle for details.
 
Easter Camps –  A three day Easter Camp takes place in Ballybay on April 18/19/20th from 10am to 2.30pm daily suitable for children aged 5 to 12 years old. See the Monaghan Co Board website for more details.
Féile – Following the draw made last week the club will be hosting a club from Meath in this year’s competition on the weekend of June 23rd and 24th. We have been placed in a group with opponents from Meath, Antrim and near neighbours Doohamlet.
