Primary School 5th Class Football League

Over the past 3 weeks (18^th/25^th Jan & 1^stFebruary) Games Development Officer’s Rory Beggan & Colin Malone organised a 5^th class indoor league catered for 5^th class boys & girls. Smaller schools could take 4th class if they wish. In total 25 Schools took part with over 44 teams participating in 2 venues, St Macartan’s College & Phoenix Centre, Carrickmacross. The Schools that took part: Monaghan BNS, Urbleshanny, Edenmore, Corcaghan, Corracrin, Rackwallace, Latnamard, St Tiarnachs Clones, Scoil Mhuire Rockcorry, Deravoy, Knockconan, Garron, Tydavnet, Mullaghrafferty, Carrick BNS, Oram NS, Annalitten, Scoil Rois, Drumgosatt, Scoil Eanna Ballybay, Scoil Mhuire Latton, Loughmourne, Lisdoonan, Gaelscoil Lorgan & Blackstaff. The skills on show and the teamwork and enthusiasm of the schools was of the highest order & bodes well for the future of Monaghan GAA.

We would like to thank St Macartans College, Monaghan & The Phoenix Centre, Carrickmacross for the use of their excellent facilities & also for hosting our Indoor League. In addition to this we would like to thank the schools for attending and making our Indoor League successful & also to the teachers & helpers who assisted their schools on the day. Your help is greatly appreciated. Finally, also a big thanks to the TY referees from St Macartans, Patrician High School & Inver College who refereed the indoor leagues over the 3 weeks.

Future plans include;

Indoor Fun Fives for 1^st class & 2^nd class in March so keep an eye out for this on the Monaghan website and your School E-mail.
There is also a number of club indoor leagues running in the month of February & March catering for u8/u10 & u12. If you haven’t entered a team and wish to do so please contact Conor Fadian with your team and entry. More details below on the timetable for these leagues.
