Happy New Year: Firstly I hope that everyone had an enjoyable Christmas and I wish everyone a very Happy and healthy New Year. We will be hosting both a girls and boys U14 team for the Feile festival this year so the next few months will be very busy getting ready for this exciting event.

Results for w/e 30th December 2016: Jackpot €7,100. No Winner. Numbers drawn: 2,3,4,12. Lucky Dip Winners: Gareth McKenna, Eddie Treanor, Mary Neary, Philomena Hughes. So that brings the New Year Jackpot to €7,200… wouldn’t that be a nice start to the year!!!

Christmas Charity Match: Well done to all the players who took part a highly enjoyable Charity match on Tuesday 27th in which each side scored 3 – 10 so a draw this year! We could not have asked for better weather conditions for the match which brought a brilliant crowd to St. Patricks Park. The donations raised will be divided between the two schools in the parish. After the match we all returned to the hall for soup and sandwiches to warm us up while being entertained by some of our Scór musicians. Many thanks and well done to Daniel & Callum Sheridan, Caolan & Ellie Mullen, Jamie Lawlor and Aoibhin McCormack who provdied the music. Thanks to Tracy McNally for providing the refreshments. The presentations then got underway…. Our Juvenilles were first up, followed by our U12,14,16 who were presented with their medals by none other than Monaghan Manager Malachy O’Rourke. Peadar Farrelly accepted his Junior B trophy from Malachy and Brian McArdle accepted the Senior Player of the Year Trophy on behalf of Joe O’Boyle. We are very grateful to Malachy O’Rourke for attending and making the presentations. The celebrations then moved into the bar and continued on for until late! Thanks to the Community Centre as always for use of the fantastic facilities. You can see lots of photos taken during the day on our Facebook page.

Membership: Membership is now due for 2017.

Coaching Course: Tyholland GFC are holding a Foundation level coaching course in the centre on Friday 13th 7.00-9.00 and Saturday 14th 10.00-2.00. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone hoping to get involved in coaching our juvenilles.

Child Protection: There will be a Child protection course on Friday 13th from 7.00 – 9.00 for any over 16s who wish to help out with the Juvenilles this year. This course needs to be updated every 3 years so if anyone wishing to update is also welcome.

Monaghan Yearbook: Dont forget the Monaghan GAA yearbook is available for sale in Flemings and other stores at only €10.00.
